Drones are great tools to take along on almost any kind of occasion. They're lightweight and easy to bring and pack (at least, that's the case for our drones here at Elinz), and are great fun to bring along for those special events in our lives.
Where the traditional camera wouldn't be able to capture, the drone is able to. Aerial shots, shots that need a really weird high angle, and generally shots that are impossible to make with a regular camera are all possible with a drone. If you're going on some really amazing adventures soon, consider taking a drone with you to capture all the action on video.
If you've got a drone already, here are some really great trips you can take it to to make full use of it:
4x4/Offroading
Some beautiful aerial shots should do your offroad trip plenty of justice, and only a drone could pull off shots like that. Australia's an incredible place for adventures in flora and fauna, and the landscape is incredibly diverse. Don't limit your shots to ones taken with both feet planted on the ground, especially when you've got a drone to take shots from the air.
Capture the beauty of your surroundings or manually control the drone- it all depends on your preference. Should you wish to have the drone follow you especially if you'd just like to enjoy the offroads, look for a "follow-me" feature if you still haven't purchased your own drone (this feature is available with both our JJRC and MJX drones).
If you're a passenger, it should be fine to use the drone. However, if you're the one driving it's nearly impossible to operate both machines; keep both hands on the wheel and ask a friend to come along and use the drone instead.
Mountaineering/Hiking
While it's going to be particularly challenging to use your drone in the middle of a hike, you can always use the follow mode again. Alternatively, you can also save your drone's battery for when you reach the peak of your hike. You're going to be able to capture some amazing footage once you're at the top. With our drone's functionalities here at Elinz, you'll be sure to get the best possible footage that you'll be viewing and showing to friends and family for years and years.
Be careful that you're not too glued to your drone's controls though- some hikes can be quite treacherous, and you need all your attention to stay on track and not get injured. It's particularly tough to control both the drone while keeping your eyes on the trail, so please be careful and take our recommendation to use the drone once you get to the top.
Here's a good alternative- bring an action camera instead while on the hike to document it, and then use the action camera on the mountaintop!
Special events
Let's slow it down a little bit. Birthdays, weddings and other special events are also great opportunities for you to try out your drone! With a lot of different options for angles and altitude, you'll be able to capture plenty of the event's happenings- a perfect additional gift for the newlyweds (if you're capturing a wedding), or it could make for great video that you and your friends and family can reminisce with.
Make sure that you're all charged up and use the drone in special parts of the event- if not, you can always get yourself an extra battery pack, perfect for long events where you have to capture lots of footage.
Trips
Going to the beach anytime soon? Or maybe you'll be joining a cruise. Don't forget to pack your drone along with you! You're looking for compact, foldable drones that can fit right in your luggage, which are, luckily available here at Elinz.
Capture the beauty of the seas and make a beautiful memory captured in video from an angle and altitude that only a drone can take. Some people even use drones to go whale or dolphin watching these days- who knows, you might be one of them soon enough!
The sea is one of nature's most wonderful creations, and it'd be a sin not to take pictures or videos. With a drone, you'll be sure to get great footage worthy of storing, saving, or even uploading to the internet to share with people in the future!
Beaches are a great place to take drones to; move the drone along the shoreline and have it travel out to the sea for a bit. Australia is home to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world- and also, one of the most perilous yet beautiful waves all over the globe. Drones are an absolutely great tool to capture all that without the danger of braving the waves with a manual camera.
Just a few pointers...
A lot of people don't take too kindly to seeing a drone- some view it as an invasion of privacy, so make sure that you're only capturing video in areas that warrant them- like we mentioned earlier with the events/places above.
Make sure that you practice with the drone as well before taking it out on a trip- especially if you're going to be flying it over open water or near trees/shrubbery. It can be quite challenging at first but it is some right proper fun to fly a drone; get lots of practice at home while hovering it above ground and flying it over some obstacles. If you don't practice, you run the risk of breaking it over some trees, rock or water in the future- protect your investment by getting some time in with it!
Always make sure to bring some spare batteries too- some people get too enthusiastic about flying their drones that they forget that they have limited flight time. Make sure to bring one along so you don't run out of juice at the important moments, and so to make sure that your drone just doesn't drop dead at the height of its flight (which might break it- although plenty of drones return immediately once they're near the end of their battery life).
Have fun with your drone! If you haven't got one yet, get yours here today at Elinz.
