The Queen's Birthday is coming up this next Monday! We've got tons to celebrate for this week and the next, as we've been having bouts of good news in the fight against COVID-19.
Shops and activities are opening up again and major restrictions have been lifted, but of course, it would be best to take care and be in the know; stay vigilant and stay within the bounds of the law right now even in times of celebration.
Traditionally, we all have a day off on the Queen's birthday, and that's the time we can spend with family and friends, spending the day eating or going to sporting events - for example, the Australian Football League is a popular event that one might go to; unfortunately, such events might not be available these days due to COVID-19.
Here are some ideas that we'd like to recommend to celebrate this coming holiday, along with some recommendations for you and your family to stay safe during this season.
At the time of writing this, the local government is still adamant: if you can stay at home, you must stay at home.
However, plenty of restrictions have been lifted, and here are some things that you can try out outdoors with friends and family this coming holiday:
Public and private gatherings of up to 20 people are allowed as of the 31st of May, which means that you, along with 19 other friends or family are allowed to celebrate in an outdoor setting; you can have a meal along with those people provided that you still follow standard safety procedures such as social distancing and observance of excellent hygiene practices such as handwashing.
Our tip: It doesn't technically have to be completely indoors! Set up your yard and have some friends and family over, and get a small lunch or dinner gathering.
If you have a caravan trailer, you might not be seeing much use with it recently. On June 8, you can hook up an inverter with it and power up some electronics - such as a television where you can all watch a movie while eating. If you miss AFL, maybe watch an old game from the league? Close-contact sporting events are a bit of a no-go these days, so a rerun will help tide you over until the end of COVID-19.
If you're looking for a good inverter, preferably one that converts the most energy to get the most of your car's battery, get your own pure sine wave inverter here at Elinz.
Community facilities are also open- so if you'd like to go to a non-contact sporting event with your buddies or with family, it's also an option; again, just make sure that you're following proper hygiene and social distancing rules.
Now if you're going outdoors, make sure that your vehicles are in top shape. Keep your car in good condition by:
Making sure that your car's tyres are well-inflated. Don't over or under-inflate it; we've said it before and we'll say it again - refer to your car's manual as to how much air you need to have in your tyres.
If you want to keep your car in tip-top shape with as much less trips needed with a mechanic, visit us today at our car accessories page, with tyre pressure monitoring systems and OBD2 car diagnostic tools.

There are bound to be some broadcasts at home that you might want to watch with the family this coming 8th of June; If you'd like to stay indoors, do so. It's a great way to stay safe and enjoy the free day and celebrate with your family.
There are bound to be some broadcasts that you can watch with friends and family.
If you're not able to have friends and family visit, or if you're not able to go out you can jump in on a Zoom call or other messaging apps out there to get in touch. If you don't have a webcam or if you're only using a laptop, you'll need to have a different webcam set-up: we highly recommend one of our 1080P webcams here at Elinz.
This is going to be one of the best purchases that you'll make this year; besides the amazing resolution, you'll also be getting one at the lowest prices possible out there in the market.
What other activities can we try out?
Since the restrictions have eased but aren't completely lifted yet, make sure that you do comply with the guidelines set in here the vic.gov.au for any updates. So before planning any trips within the region or booking places, make sure to make your plans accordingly this coming long weekend with open adjustments to restrictions that might be set back in place should something happen (which we hope, it won't).
The most important thing to do these days, even in holidays or not, is to stay safe! Remember to stay indoors for now and again if you can stay at home, you must stay at home.
