Going on a trip on a caravan is one of the activities many people enjoy, especially during the summer months. Having a home on wheels is a nice way to enjoy the great outdoors without having to spend nights sleeping in a tent or on the cold, hard ground. However, one of the challenges of attaching a caravan or camper trailer to your vehicle is that it reduces road visibility. Because the caravan is blocking your rear view of the road, you cannot easily see what's behind your vehicle. This makes reversing your car much more difficult.
Fortunately, a
Caravan Two Cameras System can make driving a breeze, even if you have a huge caravan or a camper trailer attached to your vehicle. This revolutionary device makes driving safer and more convenient for you. So if you and your family are fond of camping and exploring the great outdoors with your caravan, this camera system makes a great addition to your vehicle.
Unboxing the camera system
As the name implies, the
camera system comes with two wide angle viewing cameras. You can attach one camera to the back of your caravan while you place the other camera to your own vehicle. Of course, the camera system also comes with a high definition, digital LCD screen, where the images captured by the two cameras are projected.
You can mount the digital LCD screen on top of your dashboard to make viewing the images much easier. But if you want to save space on your dashboard, you can mount the LCD screen on your windscreen instead. You can purchase a windscreen suction cup mount for the monitor. There's an attaching slot at the back of the
camera system's LCD monitor where you can slide the base of suction cup in. Then, attach the suction cup and the monitor to your windscreen so you can free your dashboard from clutter.
Key features and specifications
So what makes this device a winner for caravan and camper trailer owners? Well, for starters, it is easy to install and set up. As long as you can find your car's 12V or 24V power source, you will be able to attach the Caravan Two Cameras System to your vehicle. And once you're done with the installation process, you can start using both the cameras as soon as possible.
Unlike most CMOS cameras, the cameras used in the Caravan Two Cameras System are heavy duty. They are also waterproof and mud-proof. So even it if it is raining outside or if you're driving on muddy ground, you can still see the images clearly. What's more, the cameras have IR LED lights, allowing you to see objects even at night.
As mentioned earlier, the camera system comes with a 7-inch, HD LCD monitor, with a resolution of 800x480. But if you think the LCD monitor is only capable of producing crystal-clear images, think again. The monitor can also power up the cameras so you won't need to connect the latter to a separate power cord to switch them on. Because of this, installing the camera system is much easier than ever.
The camera system also comes with a remote control, allowing you to change the system's settings wirelessly. And if you have a portable DVD or MP4 player, you can connect the Caravan Two Cameras System to such a device, allowing you to watch your favourite movies on the go.
Quick installation guide
The caravan two cameras system can be installed easily. Just follow these five simple steps.
Step No 1. Mount the LCD monitor on your dashboard (or on your windscreen using the suction cup, if you prefer). Then, hook it up to the camera system's filter and fuse box.
Step No 2. Connect the fuse box to your vehicle's 12V or 24V power source.
Step No 3. Attach the 5M 4PIN cable to the fuse box and then connect it to the first reversing camera. When you're done, mount the reversing camera on the back of your vehicle (or if you like, you can mount the camera first before attaching it to the 5M 4PIN cable).
Step No 4. Using the first 10M 4Pin cable, connect the fuse box to the trailer cable. Then, attach the trailer cable to the second 10M 4Pin cable.
Step No 5. Connect the second 10M 4Pin cable to the second reversing camera. Once they are connected properly, the next thing you need to do is to place the second reversing camera at the back of your trailer, RV, or caravan. Now, you can start using the camera system.
Is the camera system really worth your time and money?
If you're going to ask proud owners of the caravan two cameras system this question, they will probably answer with a resounding "YES!". And judging by the product's key features and specifications that were discussed above, you're more likely to come to a conclusion that it is indeed a worthy investment.
Still not convinced? Well, here are more reasons why the camera system is a great purchase.
No 1: Everything you need comes in one package. Admit it, buying reversing cameras, monitors, and the necessary power cables piece by piece is a huge pain in the neck. It is a time-consuming process, too, because you have to make sure that everything is compatible with each other. But if you're going to buy the camera system, everything you need is in one package. What's more, you can be sure that every item in the camera system is compatible and works well with each other.
No 2: It is more economical. Believe it or not, purchasing the camera system is relatively cheaper than purchasing the cameras and the monitor separately. Think about it, if you're going to purchase the aforementioned items piece by piece and add up all their prices, you'll realise that you'll get more value for your money if you're going to choose the camera system. It is because the camera system (and everything in it) comes at a much lower price.
No 3: It is of high quality. As a smart buyer, you certainly want to make sure that the products you're buying are in good condition. Fortunately, the camera system won't disappoint you. It is because all of the car accessories and electronic items sold at Elinz Electronics are of excellent quality.
No 4: You can use it in other types of vehicles. The camera system is not just for caravans and camper trailers. This versatile piece of equipment can also be used in trucks, cars, and buses among others.
No 5: It is easy to install. Unlike other reversing cameras, the caravan two cameras system is easy to install. As mentioned earlier, as long as you can find your vehicle's power source, you can set up the camera system and you're good to go. What's more, you don't have to purchase another power cable because the LCD monitor can power up the cameras. You also have the option to mount the LCD monitor either on your windshield or on your windscreen.
Maintaining and caring for the camera system
Like your car and all of its accessories, the caravan two cameras system needs to be properly maintained. This will help ensure the product's longevity and help keep it in good working condition. Once you have purchased the camera system, make sure you follow the maintenance tips below.
Tip No 1. Cover the trailer cable with a dust cap when not in use. This will keep it clean and ensure good connection.
Tip No 2. Check the cables periodically. Always remember that the video signal from the reversing cameras can be affected if the cables that are exposed to the elements are neglected. If not maintained properly, the cable's insulation can have cracks that will allow rain and moisture to enter. Therefore, you should inspect the cables from time to time to prevent such problems.
Tip No 3. The mounts where the cameras are hung from should be inspected, too. See to it that they are still attached properly to your caravan and vehicle to keep the reversing cameras safe and prevent them from falling off.
Tip No 4. Don't forget to clean the cameras, especially if you have used your caravan during a downpour. Sure, the cameras are waterproof and mud-proof but if there are lots of dirt, grime, and watermarks that have accumulated on them, they can block the cameras' lens and affect their capability to capture clear images.
