Hey there!
Thank God it’s Friday and we hope you’re all safe and staying indoors for the mean-time. Melbourne has officially gone back into lockdown for the next 6 weeks, so we hope you’re all set for this lockdown and are comfortably staying at home.
So for today, in the first week of the lockdown, we’d like to have a checklist for you here within this blog entry that will cover staying safe when heading out for the essentials, home safety, your diet and how to while away the time while we’re all under lockdown.
Without further ado, let’s get started!
Personal Protective Equipment
While we’re all advised to stay home in this new lockdown, you can’t avoid heading out from time to time to get the essentials.
There might be situations where you’ll need to be in a space with some people thinking the same thing - grabbing groceries, grabbing medicine, and other necessary supplies, so you’ll need to be protected from the coronavirus.
Besides social distancing and keeping up excellent hygiene, make sure to bring the following when you’re heading out:
A surgical mask. I know that plenty of us are still skeptical about wearing a mask, but studies are showing that masks are helping to curb the progress of COVID-19. If you’d like to go out and be safe, make sure to bring one along.
A note about N95 masks: if you can go without one and get a surgical mask instead, do so. N95 masks are for use in clinical setups and deserve to be used with front liners.
Make sure to bring along a sanitizer. You can bring along an alcohol solution of 60-70%, and make sure that you’re able to access it without touching too many things. If you can put it in a spray, do so.
At home, if you can get a sanitizing station near your doorway set up, do so. A push dispenser works well, and so does washing your hand with soap and water outside your home. If you can get a no-touch dispenser that automatically dispenses when it detects motion, it can’t hurt to have one as it takes away the factor of touching and by extension, prevents further spread of the virus.

Watching what you eat
Of course, it’s always important to stick to a healthy diet, but that need is even more pronounced these days. Your immune system needs all the help it can get to make sure that it can fight off infections and stay healthy.
To do that, make sure that you’re eating whole, natural foods often. If you’d like to keep your food fresh (as whole foods often spoil faster than processed ones), you’d do well to vacuum seal them.
If you’d like to get a food vacuum sealer for your own, get yours here today.
Remember to eat more proteins, count your calories to ensure you stay in shape (as this lockdown might force some people to turn to less-healthy options and may eat more as a result), and organize your food to make sure that you’re eating clean and healthy.
Keeping your car running
Whether it’s the daily drive, the occasional run to the store or you are going for a road-trip once the lockdowns end, you need to make sure that your vehicle is in tip-top shape. The best way to do that is to keep informed on the status of your vehicle engine and keeping your tyres in good shape.
To do that, make sure that you have a TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system) & an OBDII diagnostic tool that can tell you when you need to have your car checked by a mechanic, or when you need to have your tyres reinflated or replaced.
Get both of these car diagnostic tools here today.
Activities to while away the time
If you’ve got a caravan, don’t just let it collect dust - if you have an inverter, set up a movie and barbeque night for your family in your yard.
Set up your TV, unfurl the tent, and have a night to remember with the family while you’re all staying safe in lockdown. If you don’t have an inverter yet (especially for those that just got a caravan before the lockdowns), get your pure sine wave inverters here today, the best option for all inverters out there in the market as it converts more energy cleanly and efficiently.

In case of any emergency or in the event of a power outage, you can also keep your important gear, such as mobile devices or laptops powered up with an inverter in your vehicle.
If you’ve got kids at home, one way to get them off the couch and standing up is by flying a drone - we’ve got tons of MJX drones available here at Elinz as well, with all the necessary equipment you need to keep it flying.
