With all that’s been happening in the world, it’s great to know that Australia is doing well in the fight against COVID-19. Lockdown restrictions are being eased across the states and it looks like we’re on the road to recovery.
Here are some details that you might want to know that might affect your upcoming trips, along with some tips to stay safe and stay aware!
The three-step plan
The government has unveiled a three-step plan, which roughly goes like this:
Phase 1: Restaurants and cafes are reopened (with up to 10 customers at any given time), gatherings of up to 10 people are allowed, with up to 5 people allowed to gather in a single home. Retail stores are also reopened.
We are now in this phase, and it allows the economy to get moving again. Right now, we should stick to these regulations so we could progress to the second phase, which is
Phase 2: Gyms, cinemas, and galleries are to be reopened, but can only accommodate 20 people at a time. Interstate travel is also to be allowed, but this is up to the governing states whether or not to reopen completely.
Once we see a further flattening of the curve, we move on to the third and final phase:
Phase 3: Reopening of nightclubs, and will permit gatherings of 100 people. Interstate travel is allowed, with some limited international travel. This is the third and final phase before everything returns to normal.
It falls to us to be aware of these phases and take precautions not just with the COVID-19, but with the situations that will show itself in the coming weeks and months. Here are some of our recommendations:
Drive carefully even though roads are more open these days. There will be lesser traffic in the coming days as people are still expected to stay inside their homes, but continue to drive defensively. If you can have a log of your driving using a dash cam, get one to record everything that happens out there when you drive.
Stay healthy. You can do that by making sure that your food is fresh and healthy, and that you're getting enough exercise (especially since outdoor exercise is allowed). Even when we're expected to stay indoors, staying healthy helps with a stronger immune system. To eat healthy, you need to make sure everything is fresh - our food vacuum sealers can help with that exactly. Get yours here today and keep your food sealed and fresh.
Stay home. These eased restrictions doesn't mean that we should all go out- a second wave might still happen, and we need to be extra vigilant and careful with everything that we do. If you can stay home, you must stay home.
Have a happy Thursday everybody, and remember to take care!
