For those of you that haven’t been acquainted, or you’re simply looking to make the jump and get yourself one, here’s a product feature from us.
It’s one of our best selling gadgets in our listings, but we really haven’t taken a close look into it. Like we said, it’s a marvel of engineering and it deserves a closer look into it. If you think dash cams are just plain old cameras strapped into the rear view mirror or slapped onto a dash board, think again- the DCMAX will definitely prove you wrong.
Here are some of the most amazing features on the DCMAX that every dash cam should have for complete convenience!
Visibility
The problem with a lot of dash cams is that they’re great during the day, but at night they can barely see anything- blind as a bat in the evening.
The issue here is a lack of a sensor or at least a competent one. The DCMAX comes packed with the power Sony Starvis Sensor, and a night vision sensor. With both, it can capture license plates, small details and plenty of other things out on the road. You won’t miss out on any detail no matter how small, especially for when you need to review some particular details of a specific driving day.
Speaking of visibility, don’t forget about WDR, or Wide Dynamic Range- lighting can shift drastically between incredible brightness and darkness when you’re driving. One moment, you could be driving through a tunnel and a few seconds later, you could be driving in the sunlight.
WDR takes all that into account and auto adjusts the camera’s capacity to process light in the video, mimicking the human eye and how it adjusts to light. Even better, with the Sony Starvis Sensor, you can expect quicker and more reliable adjustments to light shifts.
All of this makes sure that you don’t miss out on any detail on the road, topped with the 4k resolution that the DCMAX offers- truly a great dashcam to take out on the road and insure every driving experience.
Motion sensing is such an important feature in dash cams. They’re used for security after all, and when your car is on park, it doubles as a security camera to keep your car safe.
But the problem with non-hardwired dash cameras is that they can’t keep running- most dash cams don’t have batteries since they’re mounted near the windshield (which can compromise any kind of battery for a device that small).
But the DCMAX has hard-wiring options- which means that it can power on and power off on its own based on the motions that it senses outside the vehicle. It’s a great tool to have to keep your vehicle safe both on and off the road.
Once it detects anything moving in front of its camera, it starts recording. You should be able to capture any likenesses or features in the footage that can point you to whoever is moving near your vehicle. This can be used against would-be vandals or carjackers, and a host of other uncalled-for activities.
With it’s wide angle view and ultra-HD recording, there should be no problem capturing anything that comes close to your vehicle, provided that you have the DCMAX hardwired. If you haven’t hardwired it yet, here’s a detailed guide from us: The Elinz Hardwiring Guide, with pictures
In the event of a collision or any kind of bump on the road, the motion sensing and the G-sensor functionality on the dash cam will kick in- it will automatically “lock” certain parts of the footage where it sensed the collision, protecting that part of the footage and making sure that new footage won’t loop over it.
It’s a great feature that’ll give you peace of mind- on top of not having to offload every so often, this makes the dash cam your smartest purchase yet for your car as it also adds to its insurance and security.
Speaking of wide angles, the DCMAX also comes pre-packed with a very easy to install reverse camera. This is perfect for all kinds of vehicles, and makes it a 2 in 1 purchase to keep your vehicle safe and sound from any kind of harm.
Reversing is one of the most problematic parts of driving in the modern world due to poor visibility and multiple different blind spots on vehicles; a reversing cameras solves exactly that problem.
Connectivity
Its 2020- if your dash cam can’t connect to the WiFi, then it’s horribly outdated. You’d be glad to know that the DCMAX doesn’t have just WiFi- it completely syncs up to GPS, doubling up as a navigational tool while acting as insurance for your vehicle.
With WiFi connectivity, you can offload and manage all your recordings into a mobile device or a different storage device; making review of footage and clearing up space for it an absolute breeze.
Image clarity
Last but not the least, let’s talk about image clarity. Both cameras front and back have the option to record in 1080P HD simultaneously- as good as most formats that you see in the movies and or high definition clips on the internet.
It makes for some really stunning footage- so it doesn’t make for just an excellent insurance and security tool, but it also makes for great video especially for those of you interested in making a video blog/ travelogue.
But in its default state, the DCMAX will record in its whopping 4k resolution at 30 FPS. This makes for excellent footage that will be such a treat to view especially on monitors or screens that accomodate for such a resolution.
