While we’ve been seeing tons of good news related to COVID-19, we’d like to urge everyone to stay safe and stay vigilant throughout this time of transition. It’s the new normal, as people are saying - and we’d do well to adapt to make sure we’re safe.
Here’s a quick and easy-to-read guide from us here at Elinz to help keep you and your family safe, containing all the content that we’ve published from our previous guides in one post.
Staying safe in your car:
Don’t forget what your vehicle’s high touch surfaces are, and that includes the following:
Car Door Handles
Armrests. While not exactly the hand, arms can also carry germs and viruses which can transfer easily to the car’s armrests.
The dashboard. Even if it’s just you inside your vehicle, remember that COVID-19 can live on surfaces for hours or days. If you’ve touched something that carries it, then it transfers on to the dashboard.
The steering wheel
Electronics such as car DVD player surfaces
Any handles inside and outside your vehicle
Now to make sure that you’re fully equipped with cleaning these surfaces, don’t forget to always bring the following items inside your vehicle:
A disinfectant wipe that you can immediately throw away after use
An alcohol spray of 60-70% alcohol concentration
Face masks, especially if you’re driving a rideshare or a cab.
All these make for a safer vehicle whether or not you run a rideshare service, or you’re just driving to and from where you need to be. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to have a dashcam on your vehicle; preferably, a dual dash cam where you can monitor who goes in and comes out of your car during the day’s drive. Get yours here today.
Remember that driving safe during this new normal doesn’t only mean staying COVID-19-free; even if the roads are a little more open due to fewer people traveling, make sure that you keep your wits about you, don’t drive distracted and keep both hands on the wheel and eyes on the road to prevent any vehicular accidents.
Staying safe Outdoors
Now that plenty of restrictions have been lifted, we can all go out and engage in some activities with a limited amount of people involved (at the time of writing this, gatherings of 20 people are allowed).
But make sure to stay vigilant during these times. Here are some tips that we highly recommend that everyone takes in this new normal:
If you’re planning on going out and going to a gathering, it would be best to maintain social distance. If you’re not familiar with the people you’re going to meet, belay that for now - if you can stay at home, you must stay at home - as the local government says.
If you can’t avoid a gathering, especially for work - and while the government doesn’t recommend the wearing of masks - consider wearing one.
If you think that you’re at risk and if you meet with a lot of people day in, day out (even if you’re distancing socially), there’s no harm in protecting yourself with a face mask.
Workers in fast food chains, tradies that work inside different homes or workplaces, especially those that work in healthcare - more so those that work in hospitals need protection from COVID-19, even though there are very minimal cases daily, need as much protection as they can get.
If you’re working for a healthcare organization or any organization that has contact with a lot of people day in, day out, do not hesitate to let us know at Elinz. Email us at sales@elinz.com.au if you have need of protective gear such as face masks, both surgical and N95 face masks, or forehead thermometers for your workplace and we’ll be sure to set up a deal for you.
The government is also repeating the same core message: If you can work from home, then you must stay at home.
Staying Safe At Home
The same concept applies here. When you’re at home, be sure to maintain the following guidelines:
Maintain excellent hygiene. If you’ve been outside, before coming back in, make sure to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, as thoroughly as you can, with water and soap.
In the absence of water and soap, use a cleaning solution that contains at least 60% alcohol.
Refrain from touching your face, especially if you’ve been outside and you haven’t cleaned your hands yet.
Stay active and eat healthily. Going into quarantine is particularly challenging for eating healthy. Set aside time to plan and prepare your meals and make sure that you’re keeping them fresh with either refrigeration, vacuum sealing, or both if you’re able to do so!
Remember to stay safe and healthy!
