As drivers, we all have experienced an encounter with different types of drivers. Some are unforgettably nice, while some are unimaginably rude. There are patient drivers, rude drivers, new drivers, and a lot more. Are you the type of driver who keeps a certain distance from the cars around you? Or are you the type to disobey the rules? Read more to find out.
Know anyone who blasts their car speakers with loud music? Well, those drivers belong to this category. When you’re on the road and you hear loud music pass by you, that’s probably them! This can be distracting to some drivers, while it’s okay for some. If you’re the type to get easily distracted and annoyed by drivers like this, we suggest you keep your focus on the road, drive safely, and avoid these drivers as much as you can.
New drivers are often slow drivers. You can see that they’re very cautious when driving. Since the road is new to them, they are sometimes scared to increase their speed and panic when a car is too close to them. Other drivers, though, don’t like new drivers. For some experienced drivers, it can be frustrating to be behind a student driver because they’re so slow and you can see that they’re nervous. Experienced drivers should also keep their distance just in case these new drivers start to panic and cause accidents.
I suggest we don’t scare them and be polite not to repeatedly honk our horns at them (unless needed, of course). For new drivers, give it time and follow the rules at all times. Make sure that you are always 100% focused on the road.
Multi-taskers are our least favorite drivers. These are drivers whose attention is not 100% on the road. If you glance at them you can see that they are on their phone with someone, browsing through their phone, looking at something in their car stereo, and even eating! We know how busy we are sometimes, but not giving our 100% focus and attention to the road can lead to accidents. That one second that you took your eyes off the road can cause months and even years of damage to you or other people.
Always keep your eyes on the road and think not just of yourself, but of other people as well.
Know someone who immediately honks the horn as soon as the stoplight turns green? Not even a second has passed and they are already honking their horns like there’s no tomorrow! Angry drivers are those who also get angry at everyone when there’s traffic (as if you can do anything about it) and when they see any small chance of getting through it they do it! It doesn’t matter if it’s a small space or even if they cross the wrong lane! These drivers are also known to cause or put other drivers at risk because they don’t follow the rules.
If you happen to come across one, be extremely careful and steer clear of them. Remember that your safety is more important than getting into an argument with people like these.
Defensive drivers are our favorite! These drivers are careful and mindful of everyone on the road. They make sure that they keep a reasonable distance between them and the cars around them, use signal lights when needed, know when to slow down, and aren’t rude to other drivers and pedestrians.
We highly encourage everyone to practice driving this way. Always be cautious of your surroundings, try to remain calm, and follow traffic rules to make the road a safer place.
Always remember that these road accidents happen in a blink of an eye. Most of the time we don’t know that it’s coming unless we’re already eye to eye with it. Friendly reminder to everyone to always remain calm when driving, focus your attention on the road, and maintain a safe distance from other cars and pedestrians.
